Desktop Principles

Name 5 desktop principles, elements or vocabulary terms that you have used in creating the can label and/or the special event ticket and EXPLAIN how you used them.

Text Box- I used a text box in both of the creating of the can, and the special event ticket. I used it to place information inside of it.

Watermark- I used a watermark in both of the projects. I used a picture of something then I adjusted the brightness and contrast, and made it a transparent looking picture.

Border- I used a border around the can label, and the border was for some looks, but it was mostly for helping me cut out the ticket.

Rules- I used rules to divide and separate different information within the special event ticket.

Bleed- I used a bleed in the can label. The boat was in the ocean, and the ocean bled of the page.

Rules

Most families set rules for their children, especially regarding behavior and responsibility.  Do you long to stay out later, go out more, or dress any way you like?  Which rules do you find particularly annoying? Write about rules that you consider unfair and why?  Which rules do you find that are fair and why?
I think that my mom has a set of rules that are very fair. Rules of the house included, me dressing well, being back to the house at a reasonable time, and of course being respectful to my mom. A rule I don’t like, or don't like to do, is cleaning my room. My room seems to get messy fast. Then it comes time to clean it, and I don't want to. But other than a few common sense rules, my mom is pretty liberal and allows me to do a lot of things.

    Super bowl commercial

Which super bowl commercial was your favorite and why?  Which was your least favorite and why?

My favorite super bowl commercial is Budweiser's "Puppy Love" commercial. Everyone loves animals and it was an adorable, and well thought out commercial. The commercial doesn't have a lot to do about beer, but the fact that everyone love it, it went viral, thus making the beer sales increase. My least favorite would have to be the Squarespace commercial, "A better Web Awaits". That particular commercial was weird, and didn't make a lot of sense. It was also creepy, but definitely my least favorite commercial of the boring Super Bowl.

    Technology blog

Technology has led to the discovery of vaccines and medical treatments.  It has brought computers and televisions into people’s homes, and it has provided us with electricity, the internet, phones, cars, planes and much more.  But an argument can be made that technology has largely worsened the quality of our lives, polluting the air, making our lives needlessly stressful, and dampening our enthusiasm for books.

If you had to give up one technological advantage that you use all the time, what would it be? Do you think you would be better off without it? Why?

If I had to give up one technological advantage it would have to be my phone. I think everyone would be better off without a phone. I believe that texting, calls, and social media consume to much of our time, and that we can't get that back. As you can see from the chart above, an average smartphone owner uses his/her phone 58 minutes a day. I know the majority of teens, nowadays, use their phone more than a hour a day. Which to me is a waste of time, but I'm glued to my phone all the time as well, which that's why I believe that'd we would be better off without our smartphones.
